Maui Clean Air
Today at 2.00 pm the Environmental Protection Agency is telling the public the air in Kihei, Maui (about 10 miles from Kahului) is good. The air around the Volcano on Hawaii Island is moderate, and the rest of the State is good.
At 2.30pm the Environmental Protection agency reported the measurement for Kihei dropped to 81, what is moderate.
Hawaii Tourism Authority, the Maui Visitors Bureau and the Maui Environmental Agency did not get back to eTurboNews, but when reaching out to the office of air quality management in Honolulu eTN was told: “Most of our specialists are on Hawaii Island. We had been monitoring the situation in Kahului all day, and had emailed Maui, but we don’t have an answer yet.” According to the spokesperson in Honolulu most likely the measurements are wrong due to maintenance.
